Shocking Annual Rite Of Passage 

Every year at about the same period, the sea waters in Faroe Islands in Denmark turn red.

The red color comes from the blood of hundreds of slaughtered Calderon dolphins. These intelligent and friendly creatures, which are now near extinction, come near humans to play and interact.

These lovely mammals are mercilessly killed by young teens in a rite of passage to adulthood and maturity.

The gentle creatures give out a grim cry like a new born infant as they are ruthlessly cut several times with thick hooks and die slowly bathed in their own blood.

It's amazing that citizens of a highly developed country still engage in such uncivilized and savage rituals.

The practice has got to stop. I beseech everyone who reads this to please share the information with all people you know so that international outcry will hopefully put pressure on the Danish authorities to end the cruel butchery.
